Create a Brouhaha
Prepare for a riot of colour, music and energy as Merseyside gets in the Carnival mood! From 1 -2 August Liverpool will be alive when the Carnival Weekend starts.
Start off your weekend at Newsham Park at 9pm on 1 August, where you will see The Emperor and the Tiger. On 2 August Brouhaha Internatinal will present the Liverpool International Carnival, World in Prince’s Park and Liverpool International Mela all in the same day! And if that wasn't enough on Saturday evening the carnivals of Brazil will be brought to Liverpool by Samba School, who will bring a show stopping parade featuring music from samba schools across the UK, Ireland and Brazil.

Enjoy your own Midsummer Night's Dream
This summer from 31 July - 7 September The Liverpool Shakespeare Festival, Liverpool's annual theatre event, will perform inside the majestic Liverpool Cathedral and St James' Gardens. This year enjoy performances of Shakespeare's 'The Winter's Tale', and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. You can also enjoy a romantic al fresco restaurant and bar this year, pre-show dinners and individually prepared picnic baskets (please book in advance).
Tickets for all the performances are available online, and via 0151 727 1703. 5 lucky winners can win a pair of tickets to the sneak preview of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' on 13 August at 7.30pm in St James' Gardens by sending a short email and answering the question 'What did you do for love?' Send your answer to Booking@TheLiverpoolShakespeareFestival.co.uk including name, address and contact number by 3 August.

Music to your ears
30 October to 6 November will be MTV Liverpool Music Week, and big name acts have already been confirmed including Dizzee Rascal, Goldfrapp and Black Kids with Vampire Weekend already sold out. To get your tickets go online or call 0151 256 5555.
Not only will big selling artists be playing but there is the opportunity for artists to apply to play. Artists can download an MTV Liverpool Music Week application form from MySpace page www.myspace.com/liverpoolmusicweek. Artists outside of the Merseyside area can apply online through sonicbids www.sonicbids.com.
